Issuing a gift card

1. On a table, click on the Pay icon
2. Click on the Gift Cards button. Note that the name and the color of the button may vary depending on your account.
3. Add a customer and click on Continue
4. Depending on your account setup, multiple options could show up. Click on the LoyalAction Gift Card button
5. Type the gift card number and click on Search
   • Note that LoyalAction does not require a specific format for the gift cards nor does it have minimum digits required. The format can also be alphanumeric (for example, jsmith2021)
   • In Lightspeed Restaurant, it is not possible to use a barcode scanner to scan your gift cards.
6. Enter the gift card amount and click on Create Card
7. Back on the payment screen, choose any tender method used to pay for the gift card
8. Click on Finalize

Redeeming a gift card

1. On a table, add items to the order
2. To use a gift card to pay for the order, click on Pay
3. Click on the Gift Cards button. It is the same button used to issue a gift card
4. Add a customer and click on Continue
5. Depending on your account setup, multiple options could show up. Click on the LoyalAction Gift Card button
6. Type the gift card number and click on Search
7. Enter the gift card amount and click on Withdraw Card
   • If there is an outstanding amount, select any tender method before clicking on Finalize
   • If there isn't an outstanding amount, click on Finalize

Note that the same gift cards can also be issued and redeemed in Lightspeed Retail.

Using a gift card towards a tab balance

Utilizing gift cards in a restaurant setting to settle house account balances is a straightforward process. Below are the step-by-step instructions to guide you through this procedure. Additionally, a video is provided at the end of this section to help you follow along.

1. On the iPad, open a new table, attach the customer and click Pay.
2. Click Member Payment (or your Tab Paid button) and enter the amount you want to pay off.
3. Then click the Loyalty (or Loyal Action Gift Card) button to open Loyal Action Gift Cards.
4. Enter the gift card you are wanting to use and the amount you are redeeming and click Withdraw Card.
5. Lastly, click Finalize to finish the transaction.
