Hi. How can we help?

Managing On Deck

On Deck helps you capture demand for unavailable tee times. When a golfer cannot book a preferred time, On Deck can match their watch to a future opening and send them an email so they can try to book it.

For the golfer workflow, see Using On Deck as a golfer.

If you do not see the On Deck setting, contact Golf Support.

Enabling On Deck

Owners and Managers can enable or disable On Deck from the club's settings page.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Tee Sheet.
  2. Enable the toggle for On Deck.

After you enable On Deck, eligible golfers can create watches when tee times are unavailable. On Deck automatically matches watches to tee-time openings and sends booking emails.

Managing On Deck bookings

On Deck works in the background after you enable it. You do not need to manually maintain a waitlist, contact golfers, or assign an opening.

Bookings created through On Deck appear on the tee sheet as regular reservations. Continue managing those reservations as you would any other reservation.

Understanding On Deck notifications

On Deck sends email notifications when matching tee-time openings are found. Notifications may be sent in batches, so an email may not be sent immediately after a cancellation.

If another golfer books the opening first, the opening is no longer available. On Deck stops sending additional emails for that opening.

Troubleshooting On Deck

  • Only club users with the required access can manage the setting. Confirm that you are a club owner or manager, then go to Club Settings > Channels > Tee Sheet.

If the setting is still unavailable, your club may not be included in the current rollout.

  • Confirm that:

    • On Deck is enabled in Club Settings.
    • The club uses a supported embedded booking widget.
    • The requested tee time is unavailable.

If the option is still unavailable, contact Lightspeed Support.

  • Ask the golfer to confirm their account email address and check their spam or junk folder. An email is sent only when On Deck finds a matching opening, and notifications may be processed in batches.

Frequently asked questions

  • No. On Deck sends an email to golfers with matching watches. The golfer must select the booking button and complete the booking flow.
  • Advanced notification priority and club-specific matching rules are not part of the initial version. Additional configuration options may be added in a later release.
  • The initial workflow uses email. SMS notifications may be added in a later release and may not be available in the current version.
