Creating loyalty redemption campaigns

Loyal Action redemption campaigns allow you to manage how your customers are able to redeem loyalty points. This can be set up either to redeem points per dollar, as well as towards items purchased in transactions for Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) and Lightspeed Restaurant (L-Series). Redemption campaigns can be managed when logged in to Loyal Action as an admin.

Once logged in, navigate to Settings, then Points Campaigns.

Creating redemption campaigns

Initial configuration

  1. Click Add redemption campaign.
  2. Enter the Name and Name (administration).
    • Name will be visible to customers while Name (administration) will only be visible internally.
  3. Select the redemption campaign type, choosing from the following:
    • Redeem Lightspeed restaurant item
      • This is the best campaign type to use when loyalty points can be redeemed for specific items in Lightspeed Retail.
    • Redeem Lightspeed retail item
      • This is the best campaign type to use when loyalty points can be redeemed for specific items in Lightspeed Restaurant.
    • Redeem points for $ in Lightspeed restaurant
      • This is the best campaign type to use when loyalty points can be redeemed for specific dollar amounts in Lightspeed restaurant.
    • Redeem points for $ in Lightspeed retail
      • This is the best campaign type to use when loyalty points can be redeemed for specific dollar amounts in Lightspeed retail.
  4. Set how many points are required to be redeemed for the item, or dollar value.
  5. Select if the campaign should be active or inactive once created.
  6. Select a start and end date for the campaign, if applicable.
  7. Select which Loyal Action member types it should apply to.
  8. Select the Location it should apply to, if applicable.

When creating a Redeem Lightspeed retail item or a Redeem Lightspeed restaurant item, you will see the options to specify SKUs and Discount IDs. This will allow you to set which items this can be redeemed towards, and which discounts it should use to finalize the transactions.

The SKUs can be found in Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) as the System ID.Retail system ID

Applying Discount IDs

When creating a Redeem Lightspeed retail item campaign after choosing a Location, you can click Manage discounts to easily select which discount should be applied to transactions when redeemed. Be sure to use a dollar amount discount when creating a redemption campaign for redeeming points towards the purchase of an item. An example of this would be applying a discount of $5 towards clothing for 200 points. More information about discounts in Retail (R-Series) can be found here.

For Redeem Lightspeed restaurant item campaigns you will want to attribute the PLU code from the discount item. The discount type will impact how the transaction is finalized. More information about discounts in Restaurant (R-Series) can be found here. Resturant discount
