Creating loyalty reward campaigns

Loyal Action reward campaigns allow you to manage how your customers are able to accumulate loyalty points. This can be set up either to accumulate points per dollar spent, as well as for certain items purchased for transactions in Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) and Lightspeed Restaurant (L-Series). Reward campaigns can be managed when logged in to Loyal Action as an admin.

Once logged in, navigate to Settings, then Points Campaigns.

Adjusting default campaigns

Lightspeed Retail Campaign and Lightspeed Restaurant Campaign are the default campaigns signified by a star. It is important to note that these campaigns represent a points per $ campaign for all transactions. Please be sure to adjust their Points (per $ spent) setting to 0, or add the necessary items to be excluded if this is not necessary.Default reward campaigns

Creating reward campaigns

Initial configuration

  1. Click Add reward campaign
  2. Enter the Name and Name (administration).
    • Name will be visible to customers while Name (administration) will only be visible internally.
  3. Select the reward campaign type, choosing from the following:
    • Extra campaign Lightspeed restaurant
      • This is the best campaign type to use when associating reward campaigns with items and transactions from Lightspeed Restaurant (L-Series).
    • Extra campaign Lightspeed retail
      • This is the best campaign type to use when associating reward campaigns with items and transactions from Lightspeed Retail (R-Series).
  4. Select if loyalty points should be accumulated per $ spent, or per item if applicable.
  5. Input the number of points that should be accumulated.
  6. Select if the campaign should be active or inactive once created.
  7. Select a start and end date for the campaign, if applicable.
  8. Select which Loyal Action member types it should apply to.

Targets and exclusions

When creating an Extra campaign Lightspeed Retail or an Extra campaign Lightspeed Restaurant, you will see the option to Add targets and exclusions. This will allow you to set which items should or should not accumulate points.
